Projects

From a very young age, I loved tuning lyrics, especially because it is a melodious expression of the poems and dialogues that attracted me. To my pleasure, few tuning projects came my way. Here are few of those :-

KRSHNAVATHARA NAVARATHRI 2023 : This is a very novel charitable initiative, a fund raiser for the education of underprivileged children of USA, headed by marshmallowminds.org (#golu4good), a musical navarathri golu video production consisting of scenes from the childhood and youthful days of Krishna. A team headed by me, put together the background score for the scenes curated through dolls by Harini Senthilvasan during the Navarathri of 2022.

ADHITHYA HRDHAYA STHOTHRAM : This is the Thamizh translation of the popular hymn given to Lord Rama by Sage Agasthya to ensure his victory in his battle against Ravana. The verses are tuned in 7 ragams to depict the 7 rathas of Sun God. Lyrics : Retd Col. Muthiahpillai Kumar

FLAG SONG of AIBEA : (All India Bank Employees Association) : One of my proudest projects, to record the flag song of AIBEA (in tamizh). From the time I know my father Com. CHV, I have known him to have been associated with ‘union’. His sheer awe of his mentors from AIBEA, especially Com. Tarakeswar Chakraborthy, inspired me always and I held AIBEA high in my mind. THIRUPPUGAZH AMUDHAM CHANNEL : Sriram Parthasarathy and Sruthi Sriram are benevolent musicians who have dedicated their lives to music. When they launched an exclusive YouTube channel for Thriuppugazh “THIRUPPUGAZH AMUDHAM” I was only thrilled to have been invited to contribute a few thiruppugazhs which I had set to tune, to their channel’s content. THEME SONG OF ICAR – IIHR (Indian Institute of Horticultural Research) : A selfless and innovative research centre working for the benefit of all farmers. I’m very glad to have tuned and sung their jingle, in kannada language. (CLICK on the image to listen to the song)

AUM NĀGALAKSHMI MĀTHE : The Arathi Song of Prasanna Nagalakshmi Devi Temple. The idol of the deity is said to be at least 300 years old, going by collective hearsay (a person recollects his grandfather visiting this deity when he was younger, as the Elle Dhevatha, border deity). The residents and devotees have gotten together to do daily rituals and practices, diligently. I am very lucky that Grace came in the form of the idea of choosing the ragam of this song, in Punnagavarali, somewhat relating to the name of the deity herself. Lyrics : Dr. Nanda Kotur, Percussion : Bangalore Ramanath, Chorus : Rohith, Vaishnavi, Gayathri and Shloka
